Networking for a Cause with NAAAP San Diego

NAAAP (National Association of Asian American Professionals) San Diego teamed up with Senhoa to organize their 2011 Fall Professional Mixer. The Networking for a Cause event was held on November 3rd at the Double Tree Hotel Mission Valley in San Diego. Thank you to all who donated to Senhoa in the GirlEffect Competition in hopes of winning Senhoa a 25k grant to help fund a pre-school in Cambodia for an entire year.

The video was followed by a fun fashion show where models showcased Senhoa jewelry, including pieces from our newest collection, Coco Rocha for Senhoa.

Talk about diversifying- The Senhoa Girls have ventured into music!

Remember the days of the basic recorder all those years ago in school? Well, we had lots of fun introducing the timeless wood-wind instrument to the girls.

Let's make some music!

We want to expose the girls to all sorts learning elements and music seemed to be a natural step. It is the universal language after all!

What started as a cacophony ended in decipherable tunes such as Hot Cross Buns and Au Clair de la Lune.

We attempted at some other tunes…but our 5000 riel ($1.25) Cambodian recorders are missing a hole…

And a 5,6,7,8...

And then 2 lessons later with a bit more basic theory…the girls were making up their own tunes!

Coco-llection in the Making

It’s all happening! The Coco Rocha for Senhoa Collection is OUT!

You may have seen all the awesomeness unravel on the interweb but in our bias opinion, the real magic is behind the scenes!

In early September, Senhoa’s US-based Volunteer Creative Director, Jenny Van, flew all the way to Cambodia with the exclusive Coco Rocha designs to train up our Jewelry Artisans for the Collection just launched in November.

Goes to show the qualitative AND quantitative work the Senhoa Girls are capable of!

The girls oooh-ed and aah-ed over the designs and immediately hopped into action with their expert dexterity. They approached the intricate designs with such confidence that Jenny was caught by surprise!
