India Pilot

From February to May of this year, Senhoa spearheaded a pilot Life Skills and Jewelry Training Program for the survivors of human trafficking in Kolkata, India.  The pilot was in partnership with the Women’s Interlink Foundation and Made By Survivors.  It was amazing to see the girls bloomed during the three-month program.  One girl shared during the graduation ceremony, “Thank you for helping us to come out of the shell.  We are confident now and we know that we should always stay in unity. With love and affection we can bring change in the society.” Many thanks to the Women’s Interlink Foundation and Made By Survivors for making this pilot such a success!

Special Project, Limited Edition Bags

A few months ago, renowned Vietnamese-Canadian designer Thien Le (www.thienle.com) flew to Cambodia to train the girls in our partner shelter to make bags and kimonos as merchandise. This branch of our partner shelter has a sewing vocational training program. Senhoa proposed this small project to provide the girls with training in sewing and pattern making, as well as design good quality merchandise to make and sell in the United States and abroad, and to promote the work of both organizations.

We recently received a limited edition Love Rescue Heal bags at Head Office.  Each bag is lined with a unique print of Cambodian cotton, so no two bags are identical.  They will be available for purchase soon. Stay tuned for more information.

Enjoy your weekend everyone,
